I Just Had a Baby! ... Now What Do I Do?

Daily life can be stressful.. trying to keep the house clean, make meals, work, find time to bathe yourself and now you have to keep ANOTHER human alive and well?

That can seem overwhelming, especially for first-time parents! Along with trying to stay afloat, learning how to parent means learning a whole new set of skills, and learning how your baby communicates. What does this cry mean? This one seems higher pitched, is baby okay? Is their diaper full AGAIN?! When did I fill this bottle…? Am I doing this right? How can I just get baby to SLEEP?!

That’s a lot. Learning how to navigate all of that doesn’t exactly leave a lot of time for dishes, laundry, cooking, sleeping, bathing, or otherwise taking care of yourself so that you can take care of them!

If only there was someone who could come help support you during that post-partum time to help you figure out your groove!

Many of us have heard about Birth Doulas. They provide AMAZING support during pregnancy, childbirth, and sometimes offer a post-partum visit or two. However, sometimes we need a bit more help than that during that major adjustment period. Post-Partum Doulas offer that support. They can help with daytime or nighttime infant care, sleep coaching, lactation support, meal prep, and offer some trained supervision so that you can take a shower without worrying that your baby is crying every 2 minutes.

Welcome baby has an amazing team of in-home caregivers and postpartum doulas who are current with Child/Infant CPR, MDE (Modern Doula Education), DONA (Doulas of North America) or CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) certifications AND have passed state fingerprint background checks. Many of their staff also have additional training such as breastfeeding, postpartum mood disorders, nutrition, and other training!
