Traditional Chinese Medicine for Kids

Here at EastWest Acupuncture, we understand that children have a specific set of health concerns and needs. Like in western medicine, TCM understands that certain health issues occur more often in kids than they do in adults. Sometimes it is not until someone experiences TCM for themselves, that they think, I wonder if this would help my kids with ______? We apply the same TCM principals to our pediatric patients that we use with our adult patients, but we often use different tools to treat our pediatric patients. We are still seeking to maintain balance in the body but we understand that acupuncture needles might scare some kids. We totally get that! We have other tools that we can use on acupuncture points throughout the body that achieve the same goal as needles. These tools include tuning forks, lasers, acupressure, and herbal tinctures. If needles are used, we use kid-sized needles (they are tiny- thinner than a human hair).

So what can TCM treat when it comes to kids? We treat many different health concerns such as allergies, anxiety, digestive issues, ADHD, earaches, asthma, croup, bronchitis, colds, sore throats, acid reflux, teething, bedwetting, and more. If you have a question about whether or not TCM could support a specific health concern your child has, we would be happy to chat with you. We are always available for consultations- we want to make sure you are getting the best care for yourself and your child- we’ve got you!
